Dynamic Printing of Images

Clappia supports dynamic printing of images where a template document is merged with dynamic values of images captured in the app.

We will take an example of a 'Site Inspection' app.
Use the 'Camera, Images & Files' feature to provide an option to upload images during submissions. You can also add a signature block to upload images of signature.

Create the template in Print settings. Use variables to pull values from the app dynamically wherever necessary.
Images uploaded through the ‘Camera, Images & Files’ block can be automatically inserted using the option ‘Insert images from submissions’

A popup window will appear. Click on the ‘Select Field Name to Insert’ dropdown option.

Select the field from the app whose image needs to be uploaded and click on Save. You can change the dimensions of the images by changing the padding and width.

The variable from the app will then be inserted into the template.

Additionally, you can also insert the signature field as images in the print template.

Check the print preview from the Submissions Tab.

The image captured and the signature from the submission will be inserted into the PDF.

Dynamic Printing of Multiple Images Captured

If you have configured your ‘Camera, Images & Files’ block to allow users to upload multiple images with one field, once you have inserted the variable in the print template, multiple images will automatically get inserted into the PDF.

Dynamic Printing of Images from Copyable Sections

Taking the above app example of ‘Site Inspection’ and turning it into a copyable section.

In Print Settings, click on the ‘insert images from submissions’ option. In the popup window, you can insert the copied section index. If you have set the value as 3 for copied sections, then you can insert till the value 3 to capture the image of a particular copied section.
